Anatomy of an Ambulance Call
With Paramedic & ICBC Road Sense Speaker - Ted
Swan
You have a choice; you can cave to peer pressure, or you can stand in the gap with integrity
in the moment and begin to build character. - Ted Swan
Paramedic Ted Swan takes his audiences through each
gripping step of a trauma call - from the time the call comes in, arriving
at the scene, how Paramedics treat critically injured crash victims, and
what can continue at the Hospital. Ted will talk about critical incident
debriefing - and the devastating effects a crash can have on everyone
involved.
Ted's dramatic presentation will affect each and every
member of the audience - some will be speechless, some will be uncomfortable,
some will be resistant, but all will think. It's a presentation that no
audience member will soon forget.
Ted has worked as a Paramedic for 18 years, attending to more than
16,000 Ambulance calls. He has assisted as a member of the Med-Evac Team -
flying throughout B.C. to bring critically injured and ill patients to trauma
centres in Vancouver. No one knows better than Ted how to bring the devastating
crash scene to life.
